President Klaus Iohannis has discussed today in Bucharest with the Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on strengthening economic cooperation, especially in the areas of defense and tourism.

Iohannis and Plenković supported the importance of close Romanian-Croatian co-ordination in terms of holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, for the first time for both countries, in the same Trio together with Finland.

President Klaus Iohannis and Croatian Prime Minister have also exchanged views on the two countries' joining the Schengen area, addressing migration challenges and how to manage the effects of this phenomenon.

Starting from the persisting obstacles in the Digital Internal Market, Romanian President stressed the need to continue the efforts to create a real Internal Market, without obstacles, to encourage investment.
