Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca asked, on Wednesday, the representatives of the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration to present in next week's Government meeting measures to speed up the implementation of the National Plan for the consolidation of buildings with seismic risk.
"I am convinced that for each of the Romanian citizens the images from Turkey have awakened painful memories related to what happened in Romania in 1977. (...) At this moment, there are two seismic rehabilitation plans. It is about a national plan of building consolidation that takes place through the Ministry of Development, which has a budget of approximately 700 million, 200 million are money from the state budget, budget credits and, of course, 500 million commitment credits, and the the second line is the one ensured through the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. In the Renovation Wave program, we are discussing over 500 million euros," said Nicolae Ciuca, at the beginning of Wednesday's meeting of the executive.
