Producer: Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca chaired the extraordinary meeting of the Interministerial Committee for Coordination of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, during which the status of the NRRP application was analyzed after the submission of the first two payment requests. Our reporter Petruta Obrejan has details:
Reporter: Attracting European money represents a chance for Romania's future, considers Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca, appreciating that last year was the best period since our country accessed European money, surpassing the level of 11.3 billion euros. He asked those present at the Meeting of the Interministerial Committee for the Coordination of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan to act in such a way that the commitments assumed in the third payment request, which must be submitted by the end of March to the European Commission, be fulfilled.
Nicolae Ciuca: More than 5 billion euros of the 6.3 already received last year from the NRRP, pre-financing and the first tranche, have already been contracted. We are talking about the A7 highway, the Timisoara-Caransebes railway and, of course, Lugoj-Deva. Also, there are contracts already concluded at the level of the Ministry of Development on energy efficiency.
Producer: We remind you that, after the first two payment requests submitted to the European Commission last year, Romania is now preparing the third payment request, whose submission deadline is the end of March 2023.
