Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca admitted today that there could be changes to the government reshuffle, expected at the end of the month, including the current members of the cabinet. He made this statement before attending the Congress of Liberal Seniors.

He also spoke about the option of assuming responsibility for the special pensions law, which he said was the last taken into account by the coalition.

The governing protocol will be respected, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca assured today, stating however that changes may exist, given that it is a political coalition.

In this context, when asked if some of the current liberal ministers will be in the future cabinet, the prime minister specified.

Nicolae Ciuca: There will certainly be changes, including the current members of the cabinet, and at the same time I must mention that there is, at the moment President Ciolacu takes over the position of prime minister, his decision.

Reporter: Asked if he will also take over the position of deputy prime minister and defense minister, the chief executive said that he does not intend to launch into all kinds of scenarios at this time, and in terms of the Liberals getting an extra ministry so the social democrats keep the transport portfolio, Nicolae Ciuca explained.

Nicolae Ciuca: There are several options and hypotheses that we are discussing. For each of them we have to go to the party, talk with the party and after we get the consent of the National Political Bureau, we approve each proposal.

Producer: A meeting of the coalition leaders is announced for this afternoon in order to finalize the measures of the future emergency ordinance regarding the reduction of public expenses.

They would also discuss the rotation of premiers and a possible renegotiation of the portfolios established in the protocol signed a year and a half ago.
