Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu is on a working visit to France today, where he will meet his counterpart Michel Barnier and representatives of the Romanian community in the country. The Romanian Prime Minister will also attend an international exhibition dedicated to the naval defense industry.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu's visit to France starts at the Salon Euronaval, the world's largest and oldest exhibition dedicated to the naval defense industry, which opens its doors this morning near Paris.
This year's show, which will see more than 500 exhibitors from around the world, is dedicated to naval security and combat readiness in a tense geopolitical context where the industry must provide rapid solutions to navies involved in conflicts and the protection of sensitive areas.
On the agenda of the visit to Paris of the head of the Bucharest Government is also a meeting with representatives of the Romanian community in the Paris region, at the Orthodox Center for Studies and Research "Dumitru Staniloaie".
In the evening, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu will be received at the Matignon Palace, the seat of the French Government, by his French counterpart Michel Barnier, with whom he will have working dinner talks.
France is one of Romania's most important trade partners and investors. Relations between the two countries have continuously strengthened in recent years, including at political and defense level, thanks to the strategic partnership and France's assumption of the role of framework nation of NATO's multinational battle group in Romania after Russia launched the war against Ukraine.
