Prime Minister Ludovic Orban says again that pensions cannot be increased by 40 percent in September.
He explained on Sunday evening that there will be an increase, but only at a level that can be supported by the economy, without creating a danger for Romania's budgetary balance.
The prime minister did not say exactly with what percentage the pensions will be increased, but on a television show, he recalled that the finance minister spoke of a level of 10 percent.
Ludovic Orban also stated that the revenues to the state and pension budgets have decreased significantly, and the conditions in which there would have been an economic growth of five percent are no longer valid.
