President Traian Basescu on Romania's position regarding Syria

President Traian Basescu said that Romania's position regarding Syria should be cautious, but his country should act solidarily with its allies.

The head of State announced that Bucharest had information that toxic gases had been used in Syria, but did not encourage any action until the United Nations experts presented their findings.

"Of course, we rule out any relationship with whatever state that might have used toxic gases", said Traian Basescu.

He also stressed that it was important for Romania to maintain a consistent position, RADIO ROMANIA reports.
