French President Emmanuel Macron sent a personal message to Romanian Interior Minister Catalin Predoiu congratulating him on the exemplary handling of the Mohamed Amra case by the Romanian police.
As a token of appreciation for the professionalism and efficiency of the police, Paris Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau also expressed his official thanks and emphasized the close cooperation between the two countries in solving the complex case of the drug trafficker.
Mohamed Amra, who was the subject of three European arrest warrants for the crimes of escape, murder, drug trafficking and deprivation of liberty, was captured by Romanian police officers last Saturday in Bucharest following an operation launched at the request of the French judicial authorities.
