President Klaus Iohannis promulgated the law for the purchase of F-35 fighter jets

President Klaus Iohannis promulgated on Friday, November 15, the law on the purchase of 32 F-35 fighter jets.
These will be bought by Romania from the United States for 6.5 billion dollars. The necessary funds will be provided from the state budget or through loans or loan guarantees offered by the US government, or a combination of both.
Logistical support will also be purchased, as well as special training services for the pilots who will operate these 5th generation multi-role aircraft.
The Chief of the Defense General Staff, General Gheorghita Vlad, recently said that due to the complexity of this training phase, the first F-35 aircraft will not arrive in Romania before 2030.
