Romanian President Klaus Iohannis will attend the European Council meeting in Brussels on Thursday and Friday, which will focus mainly on migration issues, the EU's digital agenda, security and defense, EU-Turkey relations, North Korea.
The European Council will also address the future of the EU and the Leaders' Agenda, a document suggested by the President of the Council, detailing the timetable and topics to be discussed by European leaders until the end of the 2019 first semester, the Romanian Presidential Administration announced.
There will also be an EU 27 session devoted to talks on the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union, in order to assess the progress made so far in the negotiation process.
In the context of the European Council meeting, Klaus Iohannis will also attend the European People's Party Summit and meet with EPP President Joseph Daul and EPP Secretary General Antonio Lopez-Isturiz.
