President Iohannis welcomed Moldova's pro-European vote

The fate of the Republic of Moldova should be decided by its citizens alone, says President Klaus Iohannis, who today welcomed on the X platform the vote in the referendum for European integration and the presidential elections in the neighboring country.
I welcome the vote for European integration in the referendum in the Republic of Moldova and for the popular support expressed in favor of President Maia Sandu and democratic values", wrote Klaus Iohannis.
Moldova's current President Maia Sandu enters the second round of the presidential election with around 42% of the vote against pro-Russian Alexandr Stoianoglo, who polled just over 26 percent.
In the referendum on the country's integration into the European Union, the percentage of "YES" voters was 50.41, compared with 49.59 against.
