President Klaus Iohannis has signed into law, today, the new public sector wage bill, stating that he supports the need for increasing salary incomes, in a sustainable manner, in order to improve the Romanians’ living standards, a press release from the Presidential Administration shows.

According to the Presidency, the public sector wage law is a governmental and parliamentary project assumed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) as an essential part of the ruling coalition program, and that is why it is PSD-ALDE's responsibility to ensure that the wage law will produce results according to promises, without generating economic imbalances and negative implications for the public budget, in the view that the deficit must remain below 3% of GDP.

President Iohannis points out that the problematic aspects of the law need to be corrected by the Government and Parliament.
