President Iohannis signs decree to revoke DNA Head
President Klaus Iohannis has signed the decree to revoke Laura Codruţa Kövesi from the post of Chief Prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA).

President Klaus Iohannis has signed the decree to revoke Laura Codruţa Kövesi from the post of Chief Prosecutor of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), spokesperson of the Head of State, Mădălina Dobrovolschi, announced on Monday.
Ruling coalition had announced earlier it would take a decision on Monday, July 9, regarding suspension of the Head of State.
PSD-ALDE leaders have declared themselves dissatisfied with the fact that the Head of State postponed decision on dismissal of DNA Head Laura Codruţa Kövesi, a dismissal that had requested by governmental parties.
Last month, Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) has admitted request submitted by Minister of Justice, Tudorel Toader, to revoke Laura Codruţa Kövesi from the post of DNA Head.
CCR found that there was a conflict between powers in terms of rejection of revocation, and decided that the President of Romania is to issue the decree of revocation.
DNA Press Office announced that Laura Codruţa Kövesi is to hold a press conference.
