The Judicial Inspection of the Superior Council of Magistracy verifies, according to a press release, how appeared in the press several wiretaps between the former head of the IRS, Sorin Blejnar, and other people, including President Traian Basescu.
Presidential Administration confirmed in a statement the existence of wiretaps of the president with the former president of treasury, Sorin Blejnar.
The clarification came after the media published the transcript of a telephone conversation between the two.
The discussions between President Basescu and the former head of NAFA, Sorin Blejnar, focused the debt collection by the State of Rompetrol - specifies the presidential administration - that says it's about three wiretaps between the two.
The Presidential Administration press release also states that the debt collection of Rompetrol company to the Romanian state was also the subject of discussion at the highest level between Romanian President Traian Basescu and President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the two visits that president has done in Astana (Kazakhstan) in 2010 (2 - 3 March 2010 respectively, 1 - 2 December 2010), while Rompetrol company was acquired by KazMunayGas company, owned by Kazakhstan.
According to money.ro site, which published the transcript of a discussion between the president and the former head of treasury, the conversation took place in September 2010, and is found in the file where Sorin Blejnar was indicted by DIICOT prosecutors to encourage the offender.
The former head of NAFA is still investigated by DNA for influence peddling, as several conversations intercepted in this case lead to the idea that he ordered his subordinates either the stop or trigger of some controls.
In the case that is judged in Brasov, Sorin Blejnar asked the judges to hear the conversations alleged by prosecutors.
According to the press, in the folder which is now public, there is also the intercepting of a call by Sorin Blejnar with the former Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Elena Udrea.
Sebastian Lazaroiu, the presidential adviser, said on his personal Facebook account that he hopes that following the appearance of the transcripts to no longer hear that the Court is controlled by the President, although he notes that "I know I hope in vain".
Sebastian Lazaroiu also said that there all sorts of speculation are made, but the discussion it's safe for them.
