Postage stamp titled "Romania's Presidency of the Council of the European Union" has been introduced into circulation as of Friday, 4 january 2019, in the Romfilatelia shops in Bucharest, Bacău, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, and on the online philatelic shop http://romfilatelia.ro/store/, Romfilatelia states in a press release, according to AGERPRES.
Stamp issue is dedicated to Romania's six-month Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
On the stamp with the face value of 5 lei, there is the logo of Romania's Presidency of the Council of the European Union, as a result of a creative contest won by Ioan Dobrinescu, 9th grade Junior High at the "Ion Luca Caragiale" National College in Bucharest.
Logo indicates a moving, dynamic, self-confident European Union, but also attached to its values.
European Union is illustrated by a wolf, an animal present in the mythologies of most European cultures.
Drawing also illustrates a European Union that affirms its attachment to biodiversity protection, source says.
