Police raid to intercept car-smuggling
A few Romanian police officers accompanied by colleagues from seven EU states have checked the cars offered for sale at the Vitan-Bârzeşti auto park in order to identify whether they had been stolen, especially from abroad.

According to Mediafax, Romanian policemen accompanied by colleagues from other EU member states have done a roundup in Vitan-Bârzeşti car park in Bucharest in order to combat trafficking in stolen cars.
The spokespersons of The General Inspectorate of Romanian Police have stated that the lawmen are checking the cars for sale in order to identify the ones that have been stolen, especially the ones from abroad.
At the same time, they are also tracking down persons who are wanted by police for avoiding the execution of their mandates or the execution of their prison sentences.
Twelve police officers from Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Finland, France, Sweden, as well as the ones appointed by the Secretary General of OPIC Interpol, specialized in combating the international traffic with stolen cars, have taken part in the raid.
There have been similar raids carried out in Timiş and Iaşi counties on the borders with Serbia and theRepublic of Moldova respectively, where the officers have taken specific actions on the fight against trafficking in stolen autovehicles.
Four such cars that were reported stolen in Italy and France have been identified, as well as another auto-vehicle with forged documents from Spain.
