Police have filed 24 criminal cases for public incitement, following messages distributed on the Whatsapp group used by some of the participants in the protests, Police Chief Benone Marian Matei announced today.
He gave examples of messages in which the authors urged violent actions against the police and the authorities, including the use of dangerous objects.
The police act together with the gendarmerie to prevent anti-social acts and protect the population, and respect for the law is not optional, the chief of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police said.
