PNL President, Crin Antonescu, re-elected on Saturday, at the head of the party, said that if he will not win the 2014 presidential election, he will withdraw from the party leadership.
Also, on Saturday, the Liberals have established the priorities for the coming years, the main objective being to win the elections.
Crin Antonescu starts the new term with a team consisting of a senior vice president - Klaus Iohannis, a General Secretary - Eduard Hellvig and 31 Vice-Presidents.
The political project of the new management team intends to support Victor Ponta as the Prime Minister of USL, the constitutional amendments and winning the presidential and parliamentary elections.
Crin Antonescu said that this latter objective is not a threat to PSD partners because he believes that, after Romania’s normalization, both parties must return to political competition.
"The National Liberal Party will be part of Ponta government that will support the Prime Minister until the end of this election cycle by 2016 and also, within the values and commitments of the government program, he will do duty at government level to Romania" said Crin Antonescu.
Congress delegates also adopted four resolutions that will be the political actions of NLP in the future.
One refers to Romania's economic development by stimulating private sector and citizen-centered public administration.
The resolution to amend the Constitution provides for a bicameral parliament with at most than 300 members in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate to represent the regions as Chamber.
