The inclusion of Romania in the Visa Waiver program and the continuation of the Strategic Partnership with the United States were topics discussed in Bucharest by the Romanian Prime Minister Mihai Tudose at a meeting with a delegation of the US Congress.
US officials also met with the President of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea.
Military cooperation and energy security were also discussed.

The Head of the Romanian Executive highlighted the opportunities offered to both sides at the level of the Strategic Partnership and stressed that Romania is a pole of stability and security in the region.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the Romanian Army's contribution to Alliance missions, and in the context, the US delegation appreciated the professionalism of the Romanian military.
At the same time, the members of the US Congress expressed their support for Romania's current projects in the field of energy security.
The US Delegation was headed by Mike Turner, co-chairman of the Friendship Group for Romania in the US Congress. The US Ambassador to Bucharest, Hans Klemm, was also present.
The Romanian delegation included the Minister of Defense, Mihai Fifor, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu and the Minister of Energy Toma Petcu.
The Speaker of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea, also talked with the US delegation about the importance of Romania's inclusion in the Visa Waiver program and of the fact that the excellent co-operation in the politico-military field should be extended also at the economic level.
