"Platinum Eagle 19.1" multinational exercise started on Wednesday at the Secondary Center for Combat Training of the Romanian Land Forces in Babadag, Tulcea County. "Platinum Eagle 19.1" is part of Black Sea Rotational Force 19 exercise.
Until March 20, about 100 Romanian Army soldiers and 200 soldiers from Bulgaria, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, the United States and Ukraine will jointly train to increase the level of interoperability, says a press release from Romanian Ministry of Defense (MApN).
Romanian Land Forces are represented by soldiers from the 341st Infantry Battalion / 9th Mechanized Brigade, Romanian Naval Forces are represented by 307th Marine Battalion and Romanian Air Force – by soldiers from the 95th Air Base.
Black Sea Rotational Force (BSRF) is an annual regional initiative led by "US Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa" (MARFOREUR / AF) involving NATO and partner countries from the Black Sea, the Balkans and the Caucasus regions. BSRF aims to increase the level of interoperability of the armed forces, by involving soldiers in joint military drills, so that they can participate in peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations.
