Phone call between Bogdan Aurescu and Antony Blinken

Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu spoke on the phone with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the consequences of Russia's illegal military aggression against Ukraine and Allied efforts to respond, concrete support for Ukraine and a number of aspects of bilateral cooperation in Ukraine within the Romania-United States Strategic Partnership.
Minister Bogdan Aurescu presented the Romanian side's assessments of security developments on NATO's Eastern Flank and Black Sea and the complex actions of the Romanian authorities in support of Ukraine at political, logistical and humanitarian level, including through the specialized hub in Suceava.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken thanked Minister Aurescu for Romania's regional role and for supporting Ukraine and other vulnerable partners in the region, including the Republic of Moldova.
Bogdan Aurescu stressed the importance of the rapid implementation of the decisions from the Extraordinary NATO Summit on March 24, especially the accelerated creation of the Fighting Group in Romania, as a first step for balancing and consolidating NATO's presence on the Eastern Flank in the long run.
