A parliamentary committee set up at the Senate level will check the situation of waste disposal, as the European Commission launched, this spring, an infringement procedure against Romania for non-compliance with its obligations in this field.
For the next two months, the Committee will look at the situation across the country and report back in November, said Chairman of the Committee on the Environment, USR Senator Allen Coliban.
Allen Coliban: Parliament plays both a control role and a legislator, we want to analyze the issues and the causes of waste management problems, but we also try to be proactive in identifying solutions and to do whatever we can at legislative level to be able to contribute in this field.
