The final vote on the Emergency Ordinance capping energy and natural gas prices is expected at the Chamber of Deputies next week. Senators would also debate and vote on the mandatory green certificate for medical staff.
Although next week's parliamentary agenda will be largely occupied by the new government's investment timetable, debates are still expected in the Chamber of Deputies on the five-month emergency ordinance capping energy and gas prices, starting November 5th.
Already voted by senators, the document provides for household customers an energy price of no more than 1 lei per KW per hour, and for gas, 0.37 lei per KW. For non-household consumers it was decided to reduce the VAT from 19% to 5%, as well as to exempt them from the payment of green certificates and the contribution for cogeneration.
The Chamber of Deputies is also awaiting a decision on the emergency ordinance regarding the introduction of the COVID-19 digital certificate on the territory of Romania for carrying out certain activities. Meanwhile, in the Senate, the first chamber notified, is expected in the plenary session with the report of the specialized commissions on the draft law which provides a mandatory green certificate for certain professional categories, namely hospital staff, the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
