RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The 'Intelligent Energy' Association launched today the Pact for Clean Energy Resilience in Romania, an invitation to the authorities and the private sector to carry out programs and campaigns to raise awareness of the need to reduce energy consumption and open up to clean energy sources.
The president of the association, Dumitru Chisalita, says that reducing consumption should not be applied through restrictive measures, but through efficiency.
Romania, for example, records an energy loss for operators and consumers of approximately 50 percent of the entire production.
A large part of these losses are energy-inefficient buildings, and the authorities should give a clear signal through a national strategy for efficiency of consumption.
With the launch of the Pact, the representatives of the association also launched a guide for the authorities, a volume that includes all energy saving solutions, as well as green solutions for buildings.
Dumitru Chisalita: "If we take a house of the same size, the same geometry, let's say the same climatic conditions between Romania and Germany, the ratio is 2 to 4, that is, we consume 2 to 4 times more than a house in Germany consumes. Romania has somewhere around 2.35% higher average energy consumption than the European average, so we are twice as energy-hungry in general than the European average. This reduction in energy consumption must be based on efficiency and not on restrictive measures, on measures that restrict living conditions, the comfort in which to carry out my activity."
