The number of COVID cases exceeded 700 on Sunday, lower than on Saturday, given that 22.000 tests were performed, according to the Strategic Communication Group.

45 people died due to COVID, to which are added 15 deaths from previous days. Among those who lost their lives is a 28-year-old man from Giurgiu County; he had comorbidities and was not vaccinated.

On the other hand, another case - the eighth infection with the new Omicron variant - of coronavirus has been confirmed in Romania. A 39-year-old man from Maramures County, who traveled to Nigeria was infected.

He is in solitary confinement and is in good health. According to Radio Romania News reporter Adriana Turea, the man is fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
