It is the second day in which the diaspora is voting in the presidential election and by 12:00 noon more than 60.000 Romanians had exercised this right, according to the data presented in real time on the official website of the Permanent Electoral Authority.
Most of them are in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Moldova, 9.000 each, but also in Germany and Italy, more than 7.000.
A lower turnout of around 2.500 is recorded in France, with 2.000 in Belgium and Austria.
Overseas voters can vote at any polling station with a valid identity document and, for the first time, have three days to go to the polls: Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
According to the AEP, the total number of Romanian citizens living abroad who are eligible to vote in this election is almost 1 million.
