Otopeni Airport: Work on the modernization of the check-in areas begins

The management of Otopeni Airport recommends to passengers that, starting tomorrow, they arrive earlier for the necessary formalities, 3 hours before boarding, as the works to modernize the lanes on which checked baggage is processed from departures will begin.
Thus, from October 10 to August of next year, the number of check-in desks is significantly reduced, from over 100 to less than 80.
The RRA reporter, Alex Lancuzov, recalls that the current baggage processing system is 20 years old, and to replace it with a modern device the investment is about 21 million euros.
When the works are completed, the baggage processing capacity on the departures flow will increase by 40% and 12 counters will also be available that allow the passenger to deposit their checked baggage themselves, without going to the check-in counter, as informs the Bucharest National Airport Company.
