National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has issued on Friday an Orange Code warning for heavy rain all across Romania, especially in the northern half of Moldova, Eastern Carpathians, locally in Maramureș adn in south-east of Transylvania.
Hydrologists also point out that until July 1, floods can occur in almost three quarters of the country. 32 counties out of 41 have been warned with orange and yellow codes over the past few days.
Due to heavy rains and strong wind, households and couryards in different regions in Moldova have been flooded, people had to be evacuated by military firefighters, trees have fallen down, electricity has been temporarily cut, roads have been covered with river deposits. Train transport has also been affected.
ANM has also issued an Orange Code warning for heavy rains for June 30, 06.00 - 23.00h, especially for Moldova and Eastern and Southern Carpathians, where it will temporarily rain abundantly.
Manifestations of atmospheric instability will also occur in other regions of Romania, but in smaller areas and for shorter time intervals.
