One year in prison for fleeing from the hospital

A man from Grebanu, Buzau, was sentenced to one year in prison and banned from certain rights, after fleeing the hospital in the spring of this year while waiting for the coronavirus test result.
In April he was hospitalized for coughing. The doctors took samples for testing and then placed it in one of the containers of the infectious diseases department of the Buzau County Hospital. The day after the hospitalization, the man ran away before finding out if he was infected with coronavirus. He was found by police and readmitted.
Subsequently, the test result showed that he was not infected with the SARS-COV-2 virus and that he had TB.
The sentence of the Buzau court is not final and can be appealed, Rador states.
