Oltchim employees continued the protests

Oltchim employees’ protests continued also Wednesday.

Nearly 300 of them marched towards Arges Prefecture and another 200 blocked for one hour DN 64 Valcea-Drăgăşani.

People have announced that they will continue their protests because they have not received their wages and they fear of layoffs.

In Bucharest, the Economy Minister Varujan Vosganian assured that by the end of this month people will receive the remaining money, and next week will be discussed at the meeting of the government the order allowing compensation honors.

Varujan Vosganian presented also the recovery plan for plant Oltchim.

"We are now searching for an amount of approximately 15 million euro. We try a formula that consider the mortgage of assets and their use and there are a number of serious offers from large companies in the chemical industry that have expressed their intention in writing to participate in the privatization of Oltchim", said the Minister of Economy.

"We, starting next week, will begin the dialogue with these companies, but in short time, we will present these offerings during a transparent privatization," said Varujan Vosganian.

The government also announced that it paid 4.8 million lei Wednesday to pay the salaries for Mechel employees and the Ministry of Economy will oversee the entire action, so that the money safely arrive to the employees.
