RADIO ROMANIA NEWS - The Government had on the agenda of the meeting that took place today several normative acts, including those on the budgets of revenues and expenditures of several companies.
These include the Oltenia Energy Complex.
The attention of the ministers was also directed at the adaptation of the national legislation to the European one in order to ensure the increased safety of the consumers.
Reporter: Petruta Obrejan - "By approving the budget of revenues and expenditures for the Oltenia Energy Complex, two objectives will be met - said Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca - namely: increasing energy production, but also continuing the modernization process."
Nicolae Ciuca: "Practically, by allocating 1.2 billion euros from the Modernization Fund, the Energy Complex will make the transition from coal to gas and, at the same time, will increase its production capacity from 1200 to 1900 megawatts."
Another important item on today's executive agenda was the adaptation of national legislation to the provisions of the European Omnibus Directive, so as to ensure elements of increased safety for consumers.
Nicolae Ciuca: "It is very important that, through these steps, we ensure that the authorities with control responsibilities, such as the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the Competition Council, the National Sanitary Veterinary Authority for Food Safety, can carry out their activity and make sure that all necessary measures are taken to ensure the protection and, in particular, the rights of consumers."
Another project intends to amend Law 202/2002 on equal opportunities and treatment between men and women. It is argued that any less favorable treatment of a woman or a man on the grounds that they have applied for or taken parental leave constitutes discrimination.
