Nine out of ten Romanians would choose to work in the private sector if they had the chance, according to a study published on Tuesday 22.

This trend is even more pronounced among the so-called Generation Z, where 93% would choose a private organization.

The most attractive sectors for Romanian professionals are IT, technology and retail. The main criteria why employees opt for the IT&C sector are competitive salaries, flexibility and professional development. As for retail, it attracts more women, but also rural residents.

By 2034, Generation Z, young people born in the late 1990s and up to 2010, will account for around 40% of the workforce.

Adapting organizations to the preferences of this generation is essential, according to research by M Core.
