Nicolae Ciuca, the appointed prime minister, will form the government team

Nicolae Ciuca was appointed prime minister by President Klaus Iohannis at the end of the consultations he had today with the parliamentary parties.
Nicolae Ciuca announced that he intends to have the government team formed by Thursday.
The proposal for Nicolae Ciuca to hold the position of prime minister in the future government came from PNL, PSD, UDMR and the group of national minorities. President Klaus Iohannis stated that he found the formation of a solid majority in the Romanian Parliament:
Klaus Iohannis: This majority proposed me a prime minister name, a proposal that I accepted. Consequently, I nominate Mr. Nicolae Ciuca to form a government team and to appear before the Romanian Parliament for the vote of confidence.
Reporter: The Prime Minister-designate, Nicolae Ciuca, hopes that from Thursday, his government team will start implementing its program agreed at coalition level and provide stability to the country:
Nicolae Ciuca: In the last days we have worked together with the other parties to be able to aggregate a governing program and to form a solid coalition in the Romanian Parliament, so that we can achieve a government that ensures the stability of the country, because, practically, the Romanian citizens expect from us stability and solutions to be able to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the energy crisis and also have a government program that is able to implement the decisions needed to put into force the National Resilience and Recovery Plan.
Reporter: According to the Constitution, the candidate for the position of prime minister will request within 10 days from the appointment the vote of confidence of the parliament on the program and of the entire list of the government.
