Modern Romania cannot exist outside of Western civilization, and any internal or external attempt to distance our country from its partners and allies will be rejected, says the President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca.
Present at the events dedicated to the Centenary of the Mausoleum in Marasesti, he spoke about the stability Romania needs in the context of the war in Ukraine.
Nicolae Ciuca: War is the greatest tragedy that can happen to a people. Unfortunately, we live in an unstable world, where war has returned as a tool for seizing the territories of a sovereign state, and this is happening right on Romania's border. In history, unjust wars were ultimately lost. Military and identitarian imperialism, left-wing or right-wing totalitarian ideologies, authoritarian political movements have not survived in the face of the values of the free world. Liberal democracy and the struggle to guarantee fundamental human rights and freedoms have won every time. As a member state of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance, Romania is on the good side of history. Together with our partners, we build Romania's democratic future and economic security every day.
