In the end of his message, the president emphasises that his thoughts go particularly to the young, with hopes that they will benefit from a modern school system, able to revive the tradition of the Romanian education and to give the youth the knowldge they need and deserve.
In turn, prime minister Emil Boc said, in his New Year address, that Romanians proved that they can understand and overcome difficult moments, and thanked them for the "patience and wisdom they proved in 2010, which was not an easy year”.
He also expressed his confidence that as of 2011 Romania will begin to reap the fruit of the tough, but fair austerity measures taken in 2010.
