For the last twenty four hours, at customs Nădlac and Vărşnad from Arad, six trucks carrying plants from the Netherlands for the Romanian market have been stopped.

Fraud Squad Commissioners from Arad hindered the transports in order to sample flowers to spot the possible harmful bacteria.

Since now, four trucks have parked at Nădlac customs and two around Vărşnad customs until the authorities will allow them to go.

The Ministry of Agriculture informed that the laboratory examining time for these transports of flowers would take at least three days.

"Fifteen trucks with seeds and flowers from the Netherlands have been checked in the last four days while twelve out of them have been confiscated and three sent back to the supplier in the Netherlands", as the National Agency for Fiscal Administration(NAFA) informed on Monday.

The European Commission reviews the aforementioned "piece of information"

According to Carmen Valică, the Radio România Actualităţi correspondent in Bruxelles, "the European Commission reviews the data regarding the fact that some trucks carrying flowers and seeds from the Netherlands have been stopped at the Romanian customs".

Moreover, the commissioner’s spokesman for health and consumers asserted that he had been informed about the statements revealed by mass media regarding the fact that many transports were hindered.

During the press conference of the European Commission, there has been stated the question related to the fact that the Netherlands rejected the agreement for both Romania and Bulgaria to join the Schengen Area this year.

The decision was made at the end of last week during the reunion of the members of Justice and Home Affairs Council.

The Commissioner for Home Affairs asserted many times that the decision belonged to the Council.
The Commission does not vote and as for the technical point of view both countries have met the conditions.
