A new section of the Transylvania highway was opened for road traffic on 28 September. 9.5 kilometers have been put into service, between Gilău and Nădăşelu, which will help drivers coming from the north of Romania to detour the city of Cluj-Napoca on their way to Bucharest or Timişoara.
According to Radio Cluj, the section had been completed since November 2017, but could not be put into use because there was no bridge over the River Someş to link it to the rest of the Transylvania Motorway.
Narcis Neaga, Director of National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR), highly appreciates the works for this highway segment.
