New rules for car registration

All authorized car dealers, including manufacturers, will be able to register cars for new owners, directly, through a simple document.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Marcel Vela, who explained that the form can be filled in online, exempting the future owner of the vehicle to go to the registration desks.

Marcel Vela: Even the manufacturers - Dacia Renault and Ford - will have the opportunity to directly register the cars of the new owners, through a simple document, a mandate that the buyer concludes with the seller. At the same time, other operations can be performed directly by the vehicle owner. Those are: deregistration, obtaining a provisional traffic authorization, obtaining a duplicate of the registration document and, last but not least, extremely important for domestic producers, they can obtain a traffic authorization for tests.

According to our reporter Alex Buzica, the authorities want 80-90% of the actual registration operation to be carried out in electronic format in the future.
