Romanian Defense Minister Mihai Fifor starts, today, a week-long working visit to Washington. The delegation includes the Chief of General Staff of the Romanian Armed Forces, General Nicolae Ciucă, State Secretary and Chief of the Armaments Department, Florin-Lazăr Vlădică, and other Heads of central structures in the Ministry, according to a press release issued by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
The Minister of National Defense will meet US Defense Secretary James Mattis, the Deputy National Security Presidential Adviser, Ricky Waddell, members of the US Congress and representatives of the main US Defense industry.
The delegation will also attend a military ceremony, where Minister Mihai Fifor will lay wreath at the Unknown Soldier's Tomb in the Arlington Cemetery. The Strategic Partnership with the United States is one of the fundamental pillars of Defense and Security in Romania.
The bilateral Partnership directly contributes to strengthening its Euro-Atlantic profile and remains essential in the current complex regional and international security environment, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense states.
