New records of Romanian wine producers

Romanian wine producers in 2021 had an increase of over 20% compared to the previous year, when a record level of over two billion lei had been recorded, according to data published by the KiFin company, cited by RADOR - Radio Romania.
For 2022, specialists estimate a new historical maximum - over 2.3 billion lei.
As for the top of the local wine producers, Cramele Recas leads, with a share of 12%, followed by Jidvei, with a share of 8.6%, Cotnari, Zarea and Crama Ceptura.
In 2021, there were more than 600 companies in Romania whose business was viticulture and wine production. In the hierarchy of wine producers in the European Union, Romania ranks sixth.
The first position belongs to Italy, followed by France and Spain.
