New owner of Romanian steel plant in Galați
Liberty Steel says it aims to boost sales from these sites by around 50 per cent over the next three years.

Liberty Steel, part of GFG Alliance, has completed today acquisition of ArcelorMittal's seven steel factories and five service centers in seven European countries.
Indian-origin metals tycoon Sanjeev Gupta-owned company has acquired the major integrated steel works at Ostrava (Czech Republic) and Galați (Romania), rolling mills at Skopje (North Macedonia), Piombino (Italy), Dudelange (Luxembourg) and two plants near Liege (Belgium), company announced.
These seven sites employ over 14,000 people, out of which 5,200 work in the Galați steel mill. In addition, there are 1700 other workers working on third-party firms operating on the Galați steel platform.
