Negotiations in Brussels

Finance Minister Marcel Bolos was in Brussels these days, where he negotiated a new seven-year plan of measures with the European Commission.
PNL claims that maintaining the current VAT rate for next year was not discussed with European officials. Instead, three proposals from PNL were accepted, says MEP Florin Roman.
Florin Roman: The Commission has accepted that we will have a single rate in 2025. The second good news: they have accepted that the second pillar of pensions will have an increase in the contribution on a proposal of the National Liberal Party, phased, from 4.75 to 6%, and the third is also a liberal proposal, also accepted by the Commission, namely, the bonus for the 560.000 good paying companies, which pay their debts on time, increases from 3 to 5%, with the acceptance of the European Commission.
The statement comes in the context of Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu's claims that next year "there will be no increase in the VAT rate".
