Nearly 100 million ballot papers have been printed for the local and European Parliament elections on 9 June and have already been distributed in the territories.
More than 200.000 candidates are registered for the local elections and 494 for the European Parliament.
The youngest candidate is just over 23 and the oldest 100.
The president of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Toni Grebla, said voting will start at 7am and end at 10pm, with the possibility of an extension until 11.59pm if there are still voters queuing to vote.
Nearly 19 million citizens are expected to vote in the 9 June polls, said Toni Grebla, who also explained which documents Romanians can use to vote in the country.
Toni Grebla: "It is easiest to vote in the country with an identity card or an equivalent document, without the simple passport, the tourist passport, as you call it. They can vote in the country with their diplomatic or service passport. Nothing has changed, I mean, in terms of the identity documents that Romanian citizens, whether in the country or abroad, must have in order to vote."
On the other hand, the Central Electoral Office has decided from Tuesday 28 May that the data on voter turnout will be presented in real time online on election day for each election.
Also, after the polls close, the data from the minutes of the polling stations will be published on the BEC website.
