NATO-Trident Juncture: 25 October – 7 November 2018, Norway
Exercises to begin on Thursday are the largest military maneuvers of NATO since the Cold War, with an expected number of soldiers of 50,000.

All 29-member NATO nations, along with Sweden and Finland, participate, during 25 October – 7 November 2018, in Norway, in Exercise Trident Juncture, the largest military drill the Alliance has had in decades.
Around 50,000 personnel will test their ability to operate together to defend NATO population and territories and to deter potential adversaries, to ensure that NATO forces are trained and ready to respond to any threat from any direction.
Around 250 aircraft, 65 vessels and up to 10,000 vehicles will take part. Location will be Central and eastern Norway, the surrounding areas of the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea, including Iceland and the airspace of Finland and Sweden.
Germany is the second largest troop contributor to these exercises, after Norway.
