National Youth Day is marked today in several cities in the country through sporting, cultural and artistic events. In Braila, in the city center park, a folklore festival takes place, while in Vaslui, the local authorities have invited young people to a concert and a series of sports competitions. Youth Day is also celebrated in Alba Iulia, where the Students' Culture House is open today for the general public. In Cluj-Napoca, people under 35 will have free access to some of the most attractive spaces of the Babes Bolyai University in the city.
Youth Day is marked in Romania since 2005 by a decision of the Parliament. In a message addressed to young Romanians, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca congratulates them for their ideas, initiatives and involvement. He also encourages them to stay in the country, where they can use their perseverance, courage and creativity to achieve their aspirations.
