Under the heading "swords are sharpened in PDL", Jurnalul Național exposes the Liberal Democratic Party's situation in the context of preparation for the election of a new leader. The newspaper gives details about what will be discussed within the session of the National Council of PDL candidates today and analyzes the possible function of the party chief.
The National Journal reveals that within "the Directors’ meeting of Sunday there were some who would have seen the former Prime Minister Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu at PDL leadership- the only condition would be that he joins the party". The publication also relates about Vasile Blaga’s restrainment in declarations on the subject of application.
Adevărul comments that "Blaga waits Băsescu's move" and adds: "supported by most PDL branches, the chief of Senate is reluctant to announce his candidacy". The author of the article points the currents of opinion within the political formation, cites a sociologist, who considers that any change in the Liberal Democratic Party(PDL) leadership was compulsory, after the defeat in local elections.
Evenimentul Zilei writes about "The stakes and risks of Hidroelectrica insolvency" and comments that, "through the procedure, the Company tries to escape from contracts with the so-called smart guys from energy, a surprise move that might prove victorious but entails also risks.
The President of Practitioners of Insolvency Union, Arin Stănescu, explains for Evenimentul Zilei how could the company get rid of some contracts and lists the risks they submit through this approach, of which the biggest would be that the court may not sustain the "maximize of debtor’s fortune" principle and to pass to the enforcement of Hidroelectrica, liquidation or distribution of actions by debt receivables.
Finally, România Liberă says: "ICR scandal, compared with Băsescu - Raed Arafat episode" and gives details about the arguments of representatives of our country's cultural community, who oppose the Romanian Cultural Institute( ICR) passing from the presidents’ subordination to the Parliament.
The publication explains where the scandal started and notes the charges and counter-charges exchanged by parties involved. In addition, the newspaper mentions that Romanian artists symbolically called for “cultural refuge” to Embassy of Canada, country chosen as a model of cultural independence.
