‘What could stop the wave of price increases?’
The question appears in the Evenimentul Zilei, which renders some of the ideas of the National Bank Governor Mugur Isărescu: a good year for agriculture, the continuation of reforms and the review of the content of the shopping basket may temper price increase.
The National Bank amended yesterday the inflation forecast from 3.6 to 5.1 percent, an estimation which – the Evenimentul Zilei notes – does not include possible price increases in the energy and gas field, which have been communicated lately.
Economy also developed on the front page of the Jurnalul Naţional: ‘The International Monetary Fund, shocked by the bills of the Rail System’.
The Romanian Rail System has huge debts, is a servile consumer and a source of income for the smart guys.
The debts of the CFR to its energy providers are reaching half a million euros.
The Jurnalul Naţional reopens an investigation made public three months ago, which drew attention that our railway system was purchasing energy at the price which was 25 percent greater than the one paid by others consumers on the market.
The România Liberă: ‘How a party died before it was born’.
Two months ago, the foundation of a new party seemed imminent: a brand new project, based on integrity and promoted on the Internet.
Some intellectuals proceeded at its organization.
There were enthusiastic debates on ideology, leaders and strategy and then all ended all of a sudden.
The România Liberă draws conclusions: Romanians are not satisfied with political parties, but no one is willing to form a better one.
The Adevărul, on the ‘Disclosure’ page: ‘Bogdan Hossu, called in the Marius Petcu case’.
Cartel Alfa leader is suspected by the National Anticorruption Directorate for having encouraged his relatives to run some repair works at the hotels of the trade union led by him.
Bogdan Hossu was retained by the Romanian Intelligence Service according to a warrant issued by the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
The Adevărul contacted the Cartel Alfa president and asked for his point of view.
‘It is some slight manipulation’, Bogdan Hossu confesses.
‘It is an attempt to denigrate trade union leaders’.
We conclude with the Evenimentul Zilei, which dedicates two pages of today’s edition to the gifted children in Romania.
They are ‘the real smart guys’, the newspaper writes, and they are able to become the heroes of an entire nation, but only if they are given the opportunity to receive an education in accordance to their level of intelligence.
Half of the gifted children lose their motivation if their potential is not fructified.
As for the other half, if we do not comply with their needs, they will be drawn to study abroad, one by one, the Evenimentul Zilei also notes.
