In the Ziarul Financiar "The biggest suspected fraud of the card system. Bankers say that the risks are minimal". Once there was a breach in security at a European processor, many customers found their accounts blocked. They will receive new plastics in November, issued together with a new PIN code. About half a million cards could have been potentially affected, sources quoted by the newspaper said. Romanian bankers give assurances that funds are protected, while the Visa card issuer said that fraud victims will receive their money back. We must be careful and report any suspicious activity to the issuing bank.
The România Liberă headlines "Propaganda TV. Why do politicians start their own television networks?"
We have inflation in the media: in our country there are 810 TV channels, local or national.
The nearing of the 2012 election year launched a real battle this year, CNA granted 52 licenses for television and most belong to companies directly or secretly funded by politicians of all colors.
The România Liberă asks "Will they be simple tools for political propaganda?"
About a case that entered history as the worst justice error after the 1989 revolution, the Evenimentul Zilei writes: "Tundrea, rehabilitated at four years after death." The Romanian Justice took a step and sentenced the real rapist killer of a girl of 13 years, to 22 years in prison. Instead of him an innocent man spent 12 years in jail. Behind the drama, a Count of Monte Cristo story: the Securitate man, who helped with "important" information so that Tundrea would be unfairly sentenced to prison, married his ex-wife, the Evenimentul Zilei reveals.
The Adevărul did not forget the suspended file of the mayor of Cluj on "The bribe factory Apostu & wife". In recent days there were the denunciations of representatives of the companies that gave a lot of money to the so-called consultancy company, Monica Apostu, in exchange for approvals and permits. If in the moment of there was involved a bribe of 125 000 euros, the amount might be higher than that.
The Jurnalul Național today brings into focus that our forests are in danger, "the Academy's Verdict: robbery in the Retezat National Park. There were found the beetles with two legs that destroy the forest's ecosystem". In the Retezat National Park, under the motivation of massive beetle infestations, there were cut important areas of healthy trees. The infested ones remained on the spot, because they were not valuable in economic terms, we learn from the Jurnalul Național.
