‘Potato subdued Isărescu’ – headlined the Adevărul.
The potato price increase contributed to the rise of the inflation at over the 8 percent limit ruining the plans of the National Bank Governor.
The price increases will lead the central bank management to review the again rising inflation forecast from 2011 – the Adevărul wrote.
‘The 8 percent inflation from March canceled the chances of the National Bank to reach its target’ – the Evenimentul zilei also said. ‘No chance of 4 percent inflation in 2011.’
România Liberă: Highways – 1 kilometer forward, one kilometer backward. ‘
Currently, there are 120 kilometers of highway under construction.
In the recent years, however, 130 kilometers were canceled.
The newspaper mentioned the causes: bureaucracy, poorly managed expropriations and superficially developed projects were the main reasons for which the most important highway construction contracts have failed in the past six years.
On the same ‘road’ topic opens today edition of the Jurnalul Naţional:.
The newspaper wrote about the road from Caransebeş towards the Muntele Mic resort which was... stolen, not repaired.
Without a jeep, it takes courage to jump right on four wheels on the road reported as repaired.
The newspapers of the day also commented on the yesterday’s candidature release for the Liberal Democratic Party leadership – a short titles review.
‘Boc - Blaga, Phase Team’ – the Adevărul wrote; the Jurnalul Naţional: ‘Boc and Blaga released their two Romanians. ‘
One ‘strong’ as it has appeared in Emil Boc’s motion, the one ‘European’ according to Vasile Blaga's motion.
‘Boc tries his luck in PD-L, while Blaga wants burst of pace’ – the Evenimentul Zilei wrote and explained its headline.
Emil Boc asked the PD-L members for another chance, blaming the bad luck for reaching the government at times of crisis, Vasile Blaga argued that the party needs a burst of pace to win the election.
Pertinently, the România Liberă considered that ‘Paleologu can settle the conflicts within PD-L’.
With the 260 signatures his motion has collected, Theodor Peleologu can influence the second round of elections in the PD–L, in case neither Blaga, nor Boc won the first one.
The interview of the day was published by the România Liberă: ‘Why aren’t Canadians interested in Romania?’
Because the Bucharest officials have consistently neglected their relationship with Ottawa – our country's ambassador to Canada, Elena Ştefoi, answered.
In the last decade, Canadians have been persuaded to rather remain in the Balkans and in our Eastern vicinity.
Our negligence was interpreted by the absence of large Canadian investments in Romania – the ambassador added.
And for this reason we still need visas to enter Canada.
