The România Liberă writes "Apostu case makes PDL shiver with fear".
"The corruption investigation into the actions of the mayor of Cluj has seriously disquieted one of the most powerful Liberal Democratic bodies."
Some members believe that in fact this is a political struggle aimed at taking Emil Boc out of the picture and "massacring" his people.
Another theory circulating among the members in Cluj is that the "operation Snow White", a demonstration that the party is not corrupt, has been launched.
You can read in the Adevărul about the "octopus of Apostu family" as it has been called by the newspaper and learn that "the mayor's bribe was taken by his wife".
Lawyer Monica Apostu received 94 000 euros in three years as consulting fees that were paid monthly by three companies that had contracts with the municipality, according to the NAD prosecutors.
The Jurnalul Naţional reports that the bribes that Apostu took were embarrassing: holidays and clothes from the mall. However, the consequences on the image of the party are disastrous.
The newspapers have not left the Vîntu case aside.
The Evenimentul Zilei presents a list of "politicians who ate from Sorin Ovidiu Vîntu’s palm.
" For years, they went "on pilgrimage" to him, captivated by the reputation of gray eminence in the business. It is time to consider the transcripts of last year, when Vîntu "established governments on the phone," the Evenimentul Zilei writes.
Rumour has it that there is a debate to restrict the euro area and that Germany and France are preparing to exclude the weak links in order to save the monetary union.
The Cronica Română analyses the context and concludes that the forced exclusion of the zone is impossible.
The most plausible solution would be forming a new monetary union and launching a new currency, a "strong euro".
The Adevărul writes that the revolutionaries with the title of "outstanding fighters" will no longer receive rent in 2012, according to a law the lawmakers voted this week.
However, it is unclear whether they will start receiving it again in 2013.
The Liberal Party announced that they would file a complaint to the Constitutional Court.
The people in Maramureş have one more chance to save their houses from extinction: foreign tourists, according to the România Liberă.
While in the '70 s houses were being sold like hot cakes and in the '90 chaos broke out in the area, today people are trying to preserve and restore the traditions.
Somewhere near Sighet, in the Budeşti village, the residents are accustomed to turning their old homes in modern households, preserving the local architecture.
But not the love of tradition prevents people from reconditioning their houses, but the pressures of the foreigners who want to see the local architecture.
